Oh Sangria. You are the most perfect summer drink to accompany the numerous patios this lovely city has to offer. You can be red or white and full of sass or sweetness.
The very first sangria I ever had was from La Bodega. If you ask any Kansascitian where to find the good stuff, they will most likely steer you here. They are available by the pitcher and the restaurant also has tapas to accompany it!
One of my favorites is from Harry’s bars and tables in Westport. It’s sweet, but not too sweet and doesn’t taste overly wine-y or fruity. I can’t believe I don’t have a picture of this one since I love it so.
A surprising one to me was from Accurso’s. Now, I would not recommend their food, but their sangria was great! I looked at their menu and it said they added brandy, so that could have been what the something extra was.
Avenue’s in Brookside has a sangr-ita which was interesting, but not something I would order again.
Remedy in Waldo has one that for me, is a little too heavy on the wine to be called sangria.
M&S Grill has a tasty one and McCormick and Schmick’s has only one that is made with bubbly, so it’s a little different.
Those are the ones that stand out to me. Any recommendations?
