Yoga has been in full swing this week! As I mentioned last week, I bought some classes at a local studio and started out my first class with some hot yoga! It was hot, but not too hot that I felt I would pass out (which was my fear going in). The next day, I walked to a nearby park that offered weekend yoga. Three others plus myself was the perfect amount of people for a great nature sesh!
This past Thursday through Sunday was an event called Bridge Week at the new location at Halls, which my friend Lauren had a big hand in coordinating. I went Friday to get a free makeover and then on Sunday, there was a free yoga event amidst all the clothing racks. At the end of yoga, the instructor said something that stayed with me. She emphasized that today is a gift and the potential of it is all up to you.

On the food side of the weekend, I attended a Grub Crawl in River Market and sampled lots of different restaurants. I also tried a new wine bar and sampled a flight there.
In the mood of all things fall, I went apple picking and have a huge bag full just waiting to be turned into crisp, applesauce and juice!
Since yesterday was in fact National Coffee Day, I spent some time reading at PT’s in Topeka and then was star struck as I saw Kathleen Sebilius walk in. She was so kind and I am so glad I got to chat with her for a bit.
I am getting things checked off my list, but am learning I may have predicted I’d do a lot more traveling than I have been…there is still time 🙂
1. I finally bought a yoga package! I am pumped to try out an actual studio class today!
2. I started a new book which of course involves food.
3. Since it’s fall, I have officially been making soups! This spicy sausage, potato and kale was wonderful!
4. Kansas City finally got Chamelon Cold Brew, a coffee the girls over at Balanced Bites always rave about!
5. I have plans to watch a new documentary (to put on my list!)
And this is too funny
Hope you have a fabulous Friday!
Fall is definitely my favorite season. I love the smell of bonfires, the beauty of tree lined streets and the new flavors that come out. I made a trip to Bath & Body Works to grab some new candles- Leaves & Autumn are my favorites!
I finally made it to Sakura, a restaurant known for having a sushi train. It was fun to be able to grab whatever sushi looked tasty to you as it passed by!
It had been far too long since I had been back to my college town Manhattan, Kansas, and it made me miss it so much! I of course tried a new coffee shop and ending up having a lot of mutual friends with one of the owners! I played my first attempt at chess and sampled one of Varsity Donuts famous creations.
Check out all those sprinkle options!
This past weekend, a group of people I work with did a 5k for one of our coworkers whose dad passed away from colon cancer earlier this year. It was so awesome to see all the support present. Afterwards we hit up Louie’s Wine Dive for brunch which included bottomless mimosas (hello grapefruit and champagne!) The rest of the weekend was spent people watching at the Plaza Art Fair, one of my favorite events of the year. There are several food and drink vendors, so more fun drinks and food (lobster tacos!) were eaten.
Sunday, there was an event called Strut with your Mutt which I have done with Jackson in the past, and he enjoyed it just as much this year. My Instagram is sure to be full of more autumn-esque shots the next coming weeks, so follow along 🙂
